i want to try for a baby next year health tips???

We Answered:

I'm exactly where you are right now...we are also going to start trying to concieve in a year...or did you mean "next year", as in starting in January? Anyway, my advice to you is stop smoking before you start trying to concieve. Sometimes, the nicotine withdrawl in your system can be a real problem when you are pregnant. Also, start taking folic acid right away to get yourself ready for conception. Make an effort to eat healthy and get a little moderate exercise (walking about 30 minutes a day will do). See your gyne for an appointment before you start trying, so you can make sure you aren't going to have any problems there. Also, if you haven't been to the dentist in a while, you should do that too. Good luck to you.

How hard is it to take care of a robotic baby for health class for the weekend?

We Answered:

I had to do it in high school. We wore a key around our wrists (that we couldn't get off, unless cut and that would be an automatic fail). There was a keyhole in the baby's back and when the baby cried you had to put the key in, turn and hold it. When the baby gave another short cry, you could take the key out. The length of time depended on the "activity" the crying simulated. It varied from about one minute (diaper change) to 20 (feeding) and you had to hold the key the whole time. If you didn't or if you threw the baby, dropped it, hit it etc it would show up as abuse. It was even possible to "kill" the baby. I took it for a weekend and comparing it to caring for my daughter, it was fairly realistic. You get a carseat and/or stroller and have to take the baby everywhere with you, as it could cry at anytime. I didn't think it was hard, just a pain in the butt. If you take it, make sure you treat it carefully, like a real infant. Plan a weekend in and sleep with it in your bed so you hear it cry. I can't imagine the dolls changed much, I only graduated 6 years ago and they were brand new then. Good Luck and I hope I helped!

I am taking 2 babies to Oahu next year, from Australia. Any safety tips, or health issues Ishould prepare for?

We Answered:

If you will be renting a car, both children will need to be in safety seats, that is the law. I don't know if car rental companies provide them for an extra fee or not, so look into that.

H1N1 is very much a consideration. (over 200 confirmed cases). If possible, make sure everyone has been vaccinated, and remember the practice good hygiene and prevention methods.
