Sister, my heart BREAKS for you and your daughter.

My son has Asperger's, ADHD, and is gifted. It makes him an.........interesting child to have in a group with other children. Oftentimes, makes him impossible to have around other children. I have been going through this for YEARS. It's frustrating, aggravating, heart-wrenching and disappointing. Let me tell you where I started. =)

I have come to realize that EVERY state has some form of organization dedicated to the rights of children with disabilities. I emailed the one in my state and got a response almost immediately. They know how frustrating it is, because most of the people affiliated with the organizations are either parents of a child with a disability or love a child who has a disability. A very good place to start is www.wrightslaw.com Tons of information, information boards and laws and whatnot that can help you through any situation. Also, if you email them, they can help point you in the right direction for the organization in your state. The second my organization got involved in my son's situation, the public school pulled it's crap together lickety split because they knew I had backup and was now going through the proper legal channels and they had to follow the rules to a T. Google your state and "children with disabilities organization" and I bet you'll find yours. =) I encourage you to do this right now! Not just for this incident, but for any incident that may occur later in her life, you will always have support from these people and they will always help you with the process of action for you to take.

I wish you all the best of luck. This is a very painful and, at times, discouraging road, but it's all worth it for your daughter! And you'll meet many beautiful and caring people along the way!

Lunch clubs for older people, maybe including some gentle exercise and entertainment such as Bingo.
Drop in sessions for health advice, help with cv writing and job applications, debt advice, etc.
Talks on health, finance, etc matters.
Drop in for refugees and asylum seekers - offering help with everyday problems such as utiltiy bills, etc
Friendship groups to enable refugees to meet the locals, get to know each other, shared lunches, cultural events showcasing how people from other countries live, eat, get married, etc.
Pre-school playgroups, after school clubs, holiday activities
Tea dances, dancing lessons
Taster sessions on art, genealogy, holdiay Spanish, etc
Parenting classes,
Youth clubs, uniformed groups
Essential thing is to ask people what they want/need and then provide it.

I wonder if those that contributed to those causes are aware that the funds are being used by those that are here illegally. The real question for me is how many people our country legally are unable to get the health care they need because the limited funds are going to those who have broken our laws. There is also the issue of why should I have to provide my life's history when I visit a Dr. or health care provider, but the illegal doesn't When a illegal gets free heath care that just adds to their bottom line, while I have to use my income to pay for my health care. When I had a kidney stone, my bill was $8,000 for 4 hours of care in the ER. When I got my bill I was charged $8 dollars for a paper gown, it stated on my bill that the cost was 89 cents, but the added cost was to fund those without health care. So we are paying for their care already
