You should check out Child Life Council, they have schools that already offer organized Child Life programs that make it easier to navigate into a career as a CCLS. Any degrees centered around family and child studies, child dev, counseling, etc.will make it possible for you to enter into the field. Most internships want you to be affiliated with a school that has a Child Life program already in place or is at least familiar with the field, usually to make sure you have an academic advisor to see you through the internship.
Behavioral Health is specifically designed for people interested in working with people who have behavioral problems...this is definately not related to Child Life. CCLS's do not have the certificate or the license to work in a mental health setting. However, you can work as a Caseworker or a Behavioral Assistant if you decided to go into a different modality working with children and families ( I have done this as well and it is a good field too).
But check out ChildLife.org, that is the Child Life Council they have schools to recommend all over the US that offer students Child Life programs to invest in.

You should visit adoption websites or centres in your State. You could try india.adoption.com - however since a lot of babies are left without any identification or details, I am fairly sure it'll be difficult to find a baby that has the specfics that you require. For example, a mother who abandons her baby on the doorstep is not going to leave a note saying "by the way my baby is of Brahmin heritage" - and any child who is put up for adoption is going to be coming from a financially needy background! The child doesn't even have parents! I am appalled that you are "specific" about what it is that you want in a child! If you want a custom-bred child, why don't you have your own? Must be South Indian? So if a baby is born outside of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala or Andhra Pradesh you're not interested? I truly didn't think such closed minded arrogance still existed.
