Child Health And Development

Sheila Said:

What will history, child development, health and social care and French GCSE be like?

We Answered:

out of those the only one i took was french.

the course is seven different topics, family and friends, holidays, work experience, local area, hobbies, the environment and school.

for the oral you need to be able to talk at length about these topics (you will have prepared them throughout the two years) and you are expected to do a role play and narrative when you get into the exam. there is also a listening, reading, and writing exam. the writing exam is two questions, you pick an a or a b for each, and write about 100 words for the first question and 200 for the second.

i thoroughly enjoyesd learning french, and am very glad i did, although i won't say it was really easy to learn. good luck! :)

the benifits to a child health and development through vigrous play?

We Answered:

Child develop and learn best through using all their senses. Intermixing quiet time, fine motor skills, large motors skills, etc. through out the day.

The benefits to vigrous play ~ large motor skills. Outdoors is wonderful but if weather is incliment then indoor large motor skills or vigrous playis still a must. It builds coordination and balance, spacial relations (how the child fits physically into the space around them), it builds and tones muscles, increases respiratory function and endurance, raises the heart rate.

What are the effects of different envirnments on a child's health and development?

We Answered:

Hi!
I am currently doing a degree in childhood studies and your question is similar to that of one of my assignments! "what factors affect children, childhoods and families".
Differents environments is quite a broad aspect so im not too sure what exactly you are asking but ill tell you what I know any way!
everything has an effect on children. things such as living in a poor economical status (children whose parents are on low incomes, another factor is children whose parents are divorced or separated, statistics show that children do better both socially and academicaly when having parents of a maried status (im not saying i agree with this.
All these factors interlink eg parents split up = 1 parent having to be the sole provider = parent out working more = more stress for parent and child = less time spent with child which can lead to disruptive behaviour, disruptive education etc. It is believed that children need a critical bonding period with their mum between the ages of 0 and 6 months, this continues until the age of three. it is believed that if children dont get this then it can lead to what is known as maternal deprivation, resulting in them being emotionally and behaviouraly deprived. (again im not saying i believe this!)

I would really like to hear your views on this and to see if this is what you meant!

can someone help am doin a course on child development and health?

We Answered:

Have you got a library near you? My local library is great for NVQ + BTEC books specifically on Child's Development.

I remember doing this essay years ago for my unit, think about before the child is even born. Could the mother smoking have an affect on the child's development later in life?

I recommend using books rather than the internet, you can reference them properly and there is more information in one book than several internet sites.
