I think I'm gonna have to go with the dumbes idea I've ever heard. Or at least in the top 5.I mean I get the point that some kids parents just dont care but forcing them to come face to face with the teacher isnt gonna solve that. It takes little more than that.
Maybe give a different incentive like the kids whose parents did come get to go to field trip somewhere etc.. haha.
My 2nd graders teacher gives them a piece of candy on friday if a parent has signed their folder every day. I find it kinda dumb because I do forget sometimes and then my kid gets punished over it.. so in a way I guess it would be the same thing about the conferences.. I do go though. Once. And its always in like october.. Like really, what can you tell me about my child that you have seen for 4 weeks... Hold them later in the year, it would make more sense.
