Child Health Coverage

Michelle Said:

Am I responsible for paying a co payment if I am already providing health coverage through child support?

We Answered:

Sounds like you're already doing a lot. If your ex wife is in no position financially to pay it, then i would pay it, since she is your daughter. However, if your ex-wife is financially capable, then she should contribute as well. Maybe 50/50?

Sheila Said:

Do you agree with government mandated health coverage for every child that does not already have it?

We Answered:

There is NOTHING in the Constitution of the United States that allows the federal government to interfere in health care so, NO I do not agree. Socialist medicine has never worked anywhere else but has become a bloated, money sucking bureaucracy that rations health care so that those who have paid the most in taxes over their lifetimes actually get the least for it. If you want to see how the government will mismanage health care for "every child" look at Medicare/Medicaid. Hold the parents responsible for the children they bring into this world.

Lloyd Said:

I need advise about my unborn child and health coverage... HELP!?

We Answered:

When you have a life changing event, such as a birth or death in the family, insurance companies are required to open enrollment to you in order to allow you to enroll the child, or take off the deceased family member. This also goes for marriages and divorce. Talk to your benefits coordinator at work, or look into Chip. "Children's Health Insurance Plan", may be available in your area. We used it as kids living in San Jose CA, as our parents were in your same situation financially. I would also contact HFP and ask about other programs they may be affiliated with. If worst comes to worst, you may have to use your work's insurance for a while. You can always look into clinics as well. There are many low cost clinics, but they do have income requirements and you may not qualify.

Good luck!
