child support and insurance policies.?

We Answered:

There's no reason for her to have the policy, but you might consider calling Texas Fathers For Equal Rights to check.

Annette Said:

I have a friend whose daughter is being treated for cancer.?

We Answered:

After your daughter is too old to be eligible, she WILL be eligible for Cobra coverage for another 18 tto 36 months.

BTW, it's not BC that supercedes TX law, it's the other way around. TX law states that insurance companies must cover dependents if they are full time students, to the age of 22, or to the age of 19 if they are NOT full time students.

The employer, when they buy the health insurance plan, can tell BC, ok, we're going to pay for dependents until the age of 30, if they want to. It just COSTS them a heck of a lot more. So this isn't BC being mean.

Having said that, most of the time, there's a HARDSHIP appeal - like when you have a critically ill dependent. Your friend can appeal to BCBS, to have the daughter stay on the group plan until her cancer is in remission. OR, they can take Cobra. OR, they can apply to the TX State High Risk Health Pool for coverage.

Friend has several ways to keep daughter insured.

I bought secondary insurance because my ex's policy was so poor. Question:?

We Answered:

Don't forget that you are helping to pay for health care expenses through your insurance premiums, so that includes you too. I suggest that you ask your lawyer about this as you don't want to end up in trouble with your ex.

Good luck!
