There is a Government program called Vocational Rehabilitation. It is specifically for people who wish to
change or start new careers. They may be able to help out with Tuition, books, and sometimes cloths for those who are eligible.
Check the Yellow Pages. They are usually close to any State Employment Agency.

I think you have to prove the mother is incompetent to raise her daughter (which by the sound of things she is). The fact that you are presently in different states complicates things even more.

Have you asked her mother if she is willing to have you and your husband assume guardianship, instead of shipping the girl off to juvie? She may be willing to work with you and your husband.

If not, then you need to contact a lawyer. Perhaps even social services can recommend the best strategy.

If her home situation is so volatile - she may be fighting depression and normal teenage hormones, not necessarily bi-polar disorder. Along with the fact that her mother keeps shipping her off - it sounds like she's acting out because she doesn't know *how* to get the attention she needs. Another doctor's opinion would be best, imo. It could be her diet influencing her attitude as well. ;)

However, our government has backed away from the challenge of taking on the medical and pharmaceutical giants. Now, under a new president, significant steps are being taken to ensure all Americans have adequate medical insurance and care. Although there remains much to be done the success of the Senate Finance Committee is a strong step in getting the reform America needs. Interesting how now that headway is being made the Republicans are now saying they too believe we need to fix the problem but they do more to set up road blocks than help work out the problems.

University of Virginia indigent orthopedic surgery.Veterans Hospital if he is a Veteran. Medicaid should qualify him, especially with four children. Church groups and charitable organizations in your area, are there to help him.

All the major unions, such as the one you belong to, have just become defenders of the socialist machine, thug-like and corrupt. I can see how somebody would have a favorable opinion of their union when they get paid $30 an hour for pushing a broom, but look at the bigger picture, look at the damage that has been done to the auto industry for example, or the teachers unions.
