Contact your local school district. They will complete a psychological examination as well as education testing. Possibly speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. This is the responsibility of the school district under the law Your child could start services before he enters kindergarten.

Some school psychologist will not diagnosis but many will. It is the label and services that are important. Once you have the testing completed, you can apply for Social Security. This will allow your child to get medicaid. Also there are programs for free health care for kids or on a sliding scale. In New York, we have child health plus, and family health plus. Something to look into.

I would choose to eliminate funding for the adolescents and keep the catastrophic illness.With the illness these people really need help. The adolescents are basically healthy and perhaps there is another way to fund the program, state wide or donations ,fund raising.
