My granddaughter was in that situation and they went ahead and started her in school. Her parents wanted to keep her out another year and the school system said she had to go. When all was said and done, she failed kindergarten because she was not mature enough to go to school. This has affected her all through school. she is now in the 8th grade and is still struggling. Keep your son home another year and be glad that it gives him the chance to mature enough to handle school. Good luck.
