Child Nutrition And Health
Sheila Said:
Do you obsess over your child's nutrition? We Answered:
"how can you have your kids eat healthy yet still treat them once in a while?"You just eat that way yourself; quite easy, really.
"I want my kids to eat healthy, yet I don't want them to only be able to eat bland health food every second either..."
Learn to cook! I eat very very little crap but I eat no "bland health food," either. Don't buy your food at Wal-Mart -- go to a real greengrocers or farmers' market and get fruit and vegetables that taste like fruit and vegetables; go to a cheesemonger for interesting cheeses, a bakery for real bread, etcetera. And _bring your kids_. My toddler gets hauled off to all sorts of food stores and is now almost as excited about artichokes, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and Indian dals as her mother is.
Which is not to say I don't get her cookies when we're in the bakery or that she doesn't enjoy getting fries with Dad. Given that she doesn't eat junk at home I have no worry at all with the junk that does get in there when we're out.
