Check with your state Health Education department. They will already have programs where they want to teach good habits to kids and they must have tons of this stuff already.

There isn't one available yet. Perhaps you should try to find out why she is so scared of getting a shot. Did she have a bad experience? Perhaps if she saw one of her favorite adults getting one she wouldn't be so frightened. She will have to learn to get over it. I'm 76 and had a flu shot last week so she has a lot more to come.

You know I'm struggling with this issue right now, (yes i live in the south) I don't have a daughter but i have a one year old son) and he is due for his shots(Hep B etc..) many of the shots are for std's which i find ridicules considering he's not having sex(yet). The reason I"M waiting a bit on his vaccines are safety issues ( formaldehyde, Mercury, Thirmisol...)
When his little body is stronger(he has allergies) I will consider getting those shots.. BUT i want to educate Myself on the the advantages and disadvantages before i am ready for him to be injected with these toxins...I'm sure the advantages will out way the risks in some cases.

But to answer your question straight on...If those parents are choosing to NOT vaccinate because they feel that they're children "wont go there" then IMO, that's doing their children a disservice, My father ruled with an iron fist and.. let's just say I'm lucky!!!

You are wong about the cost. The US spends 2.2 trillion dollars a year on health care (16% of GDP) and federal sate and local governments combined pays for nearly half. or about 1 trillion. However they collect about 4 trillion in taxes so it is about 1/4 of all the money they spend. Without a public option it will not cut cost which is the real problem, it is just insurance reform that will shift cost but not reduce them. If they can not get a public option through Congress I would prefer it fails and try again later. with something less complicated. that people understand.
