Aaron Said:

Clinton offers child poverty plan?

We Answered:

With everything Clinton says, take it with a pinch of salt, she is a liar and a failure, its either a lie or going to fall flat on her face trying to do something like everything else she has tried, she has zero accomplishments which are solely down to her.

Jamie Said:

Is the UK such a bad place to raise children?

We Answered:

Probably to do with the high rate of teenage pregnancies

Which in turn means unfit parents

Which in turn means poor discipline

Which in turn means poor education

Which in turn means more teenage pregnancies

.... and so it goes on

The UK isn't a bad place. But it is becomming so, and immigration is really one of our major failings. It's not so much about any kind of racism, but unlike many other countries, we let just anyone in, rather than assessing first whether they are beneficial to the country.
We need, as Canada does, better controls over who gets in and who we allow to stay in.

Jaime Said:

Why do other countries have smarter children, less poverty, fewer prisoners, and more univeresal health care?

We Answered:

Name one, because the utopia you describe doesn't exist on this planet, and if it did, the U.S. would be the closest to it. i don't know "aboot" Canada, because of the "smarter" comment. As far as Japan, the health care thing certainly would not pertain...so...i still say U.S.

Cheryl Said:

what effects do these titles have on the childcare system and children?

We Answered:

Ah, I'm assuming you are talking about the effect(s) of labeling children in a specific area for the purpose of analyzing or providing childcare.

Education - How much education do mom & dad have? Do they care if their son/ daughter can read? Is the child capable of learning? Is the child an over achiever? Super smart?
*NOTE: In my book, child education and child care are two completely separate things.

Housing - Is housing sufficient to keep child safe, happy, healthy? Is child at risk at home? Can his family afford tuition?

Health - Will the child be sick, and share the germs with others? How susceptible to illness. Children in daycare situations are more likely to get sick compared to kids who stay at home. Why?

Poverty - If you live in it, can you afford the previous 3?

Labels affect children and the childcare system by trying to analyze living people as an unchanging things. Have you ever notices that a school system will say, administer, let's say, the California Achievement Test (CAT) to the 4th grade class in 2008 and to another 4th grade class in 2009 and if the first class does better they say the teachers aren't doing their job. When in reality, it is a different group of kids taking the test with a slightly different learning experience. Now, if they would compare the 8th grade class to themselves as 4th graders, they may see how teachers are doing.

How do labels affect anyone? They open the door to discriminatory practices.
