Also, now, destruction of rain forests is accerating due to enviromentalist mandates to produce more biofuel. First food was diverted to biofuel production, now land not used for food production is being cleared to grow biofuel crops.

This strategy will increase life expectancy, the opposite of slowing population growth. Not to mention that it would be an incentive to have more babies if it is believed that babies and mothers both would be more likely to survive the events involved.

The other strategies have been shown, at least according to some studies, to have some effect in slowing population growth. Some of them maybe not much effect, but at least in that direction.
