Health And Hygiene For Children

Leslie Said:

What is your opinion on circumcision?

We Answered:

I had my son (now 14 months) circumcised. Reason being that I know of three kids who had to have it done later on and it was very traumatizing. Just as immunizations are painful but preventative, I felt this was necessary for my son. I did however request the plastibell. What they do is numb the area with a cream and place a small plastic ring over the area that deadens the skin causing it to fall off eventually. I did a lot of research and this is the only way to go in my opinion if you're going to have it done.

What would you consider a viable, cost effective health care plan?

We Answered:

Define "health care plan"
There are 2 separate and in some cases competing issues here.
1) The price of health care. Government regulation, the cost of education, the cost of LIVING have raised the price of CARE (that is, what a doctor charges) - but here is the bigger problem...

Most markets in the country are consumer driven. That is, providers (of whatever) will charge what the market will bear (in other words, what consumers will pay) - Health care is no different... but here is the catch. YOU are not the consumer of health care... The INSURANCE industry is (teamed with the federal government)! THEY decide the price of care.

If you are simply talking about coverage, well... consider that only 15% of the populations does NOT have health insurance. And of those, the government tells us that 1/3 CAN AFFORD IT, but chose not to carry it.

The COST of health CARE (not coverage) needs to be addressed. But, just like every other consumer industry, the government is NOT the answer...

Question about Christianity & Mental Health In Young Adults/Children?

We Answered:

Its mostly do to be sexually oppressed. As for the mensuration, the girls often think its taboo to talk about it with their parents or friends. This hurts the girl and helps in no way. Demonic possession is a common belief, when in reality its a mental illness that should be treating in a secular and caring manner.I've never heard of any Christian homoschooled kids or kids from Christian schools being that bad before, in fact no where near that. But who knows maybe somewhere at sometime those things really happened and you saw them.
