scoop the litter at least once or twice a day and wash the litter box once a month and there should never be any issues.

a little amonia smell isn't going to harm anyone but if you let the box go for long periods of time with out cleaning it then there may be issues with the amonia.

You could talk about "obligatory vaccinations". These don't currently exist in the UK but they do in other countries. In France for example diptheria, tetanus, and polio are obligatory vaccinations normally given at 2,3 and 4 months along with Hib (haemophilus influenzae B), whooping cough (pertussis), and pneumococcus. The whole idea of making a vaccination obligatory is quite controversial as it is quite a paternalistic act and could be considered to be impinging on people's freedom of choice.

Although circulation of fresh air is good, there can be issues with heat as well. No extreme is good. And different children have different constitutions, some will tolerate the heat while others seem to wilt.

If a kid has asthma the heat can exacerbate it, and depending on the severity of the condition it can lead to a trip to the hospital.

Heat stroke can kill and you don't need to be in direct sunlight to suffer from it. How many folk die yearly from the heat in the lower states of the US? Just watch the news!

I live in Florida and have family in Texas. It can get very hot during the spring, summer and early fall seasons.

By the same token, I grew up in the Caribbean and never had a/c in school- except for thee 7th grade, where the classroom was underground. However, the heat was never over the low 80's and it was dry, the windows and doors were always open and we had lots of fans...

Then, there is the child to consider: do they have any health issues? Talk to your Dr... What is the child's constitution? Do he/she tend to over heat quickly or are they walking around in a sweater?
