But, the reason they don't want you to is if this new guy doesn't work out, then the child is left without any help. Would the new guy be willing to adopt? Or sign paternity papers?

That would be your best bet, I think. You have to think about your kid in these situations and what's best for her- not just what you guys want to do.

Ok, you're complaining about something that you can't fix anyway, right? Because you don't live by the kids so you can't just pick them up every weekend, right? I can understand your ex being upset about you screwing up his house loan, that's weird that you're what's stopping his transaction. There has to be another route he can take, but I understand you not wanting to send your statements to him, so send them to the bank, not him. As far as him not letting you have the boys ALL summer I can understand because maybe he has summer plans too. He takes care of them all year and then when summer comes he's supposed to back down and give them away all summer? I think not. You messed up in the beginning by not fighting for custody.
