Kids Health Alcohol

Laura Said:

Why are White teens more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs?

We Answered:

White people are SO defensive when the tables are turned, but when it's one of the SLEW of surveys highlighting the downfalls of minorities -- these arguments about the validity of surveys are never made. Funny stuff indeed! I am a very versatile young African American male. I have lived in the suburbs, and I have lived 'other places'. I can say in my personal experiences, my white friends BY FAR do more drugs and alcohol than friends of other races. They know it to be true, and could care less. The argument about finances and economics is ridiculous! I have friends -- both white and black -- that attain drugs easily without much money if any. I thought it was common knowledge that drugs don't possess any economical, racial, or social boundaries. I guess not because most of you people are severely ill-informed. Save the BS people!

Brad Said:

Why do people bring all these kids into this world when they're going to face all the problems we do?

We Answered:

Good question.
I was wondering this myself when we learned in sociology that poor people have more kids than middle class and rich people which is weird because the poor people can only really afford themselves if even that. Then how can they afford a kid?

It's not my place to tell someone they can't have children.

I also want to make a point that our population incraese is not because of the United States and Western Europe. 96 percent of the population increase is from Africa and other poor low income nations because they can't control their birth rate. And the sucky thing too is taht they can't even feed these people. More poor people then in the world... then.

Some people spurt out babies because they like children and are ready to face the difficulties of our world. Some people just like to have sex all the time.

I'm sure some care, to answer your question, and on the other side of the spectrum, some do not care.

I would like to have a child someday. And I want to point out one last time first world countries have a zero population growth. I just learned about that in class a week ago. It's all the poor countries. However, when I am raedy to have a child, I will be aware of all the obstacles.

We are all entitled to our own opinions.

Diana Said:

What is the average number of drinks of alcohol a teen or college-aged student drinks per day?

We Answered:

It is difficult to separate that into "per day." Most college kids/teens don't drink during the week, but on the weekend go hard. It's a very difficult statistic to pin down since most college kids will lie about how much they consume.

You can argue that exercise and proper diet are a just as effective of a way to reduce heart disease. Back when they raised the drinking age, they conducted a study that found overwhelmingly that DUIs and drunk driving accidents skyrocketed among <21 crowd when the drinking age was lowered.

Claude Said:

Is it safe? I have been using rubbing alcohol mixed with water on my kitchen counters. ?

We Answered:

Alcohol is a wonderful cleaner and disinfectant. You do not need to dilute it at all. I use it all the time regular strength. It cuts through a lot of build up It evaporates quickly and leaves no worry of residual left on the counter. Remember it is used in the medical field to sterilize and disinfect all the time.

Ruby Said:

(UK) Health watchdogs want parents that give children alcohol in their own home?

We Answered:

yes i would,my mum did the same thing, she used to say she would rather have me drinking in the house, knowing i was safe, than drinking on street corners, and not knowing where i was or what i was up to.So yes i think it works plus it takes away the mystery of drink,if parents insist on saying no,the kids are going to be more interested and more likely to try it without their parents knowledge.
