What the government is likely to announce is that applications for immigration and refugee status will be fast-tracked. From an immigration perspective, there still will be a need to have a sponsor in Canada. From a refugee perspective, the test will continue to be whether or not the homeland government can provide. The only change here is how long the process will take.

I am not sure where you are but she and or they need to go to their locial family services or medicaid office and fill out an application. The other thing I would suggest is to contact WIC and the local health dept to see what services are available and what qualification guidelines are. As a last resort she can see a dr. at a clinic that uses a sliding fee scale meaning you pay based on your ability.

You are making a HUGE mistake. You get one shot at this. I recommend you retain the services of a GOOD immigration attorney to assist you with this matter.

You need a person who is intimately familiar with the system to sit down with you, question you, and formulate the answers most favorable to your case.

My in-laws have custody of 2 of their grandchildren. Both of whom have developmental problems. We live in Canada so I'm sure if it works the same way, but they use the system, ie Children's Aide Society(CAS), to help them locate doctors and any other types of help they need. When I was in foster care, my "parent" used to get parent relief weekends where we went to another home for a weekend. I'm wondering if you would be eligible for that type of assistance? If you have a home worker that you deal with on a regular basis they might be might be able to help you find out what you are eligible for and how to access it. I believe that that Starbucks Coffee offers medical insurance for employees who work 20 hours or more a week. They have lots of stores and seem to always be hiring so you might want to give this a shot (no pun intended :).
