Unless you experience third world povety and illness I guess we would all agree. However, what we have here in the UK by way of healthcare compared to third world standards is good.

However, I see the healthcare in this country as a problem because the commitment lack of training and funding and also our own expectations and demand on the NHS outstrips what is being put in.

For example I require an eye operation that was pioneered in the States and is very much in it's infancy here. However, the hospital in Scotland that CAN do this has lost 4 of it's specialist eye surgeons...gone abroad to work and therefore they are training up trainees GP's to undertake this type of eye surgery. There is no way that I would have this done now not with the lack of expertise...no way.

So Gordon Brown needs to spend some time and look at the shortcomings within the NHS in relation to training and care in specialist fields as well as other areas before he starts plowing millions else where. Of course over seas aid comes out of a different pot of money than does NHS funding at least that would be his explanation.

Just because you can do this, should you? What right do you have to make a child motherless? The child deserves to know their mother. It isn't your mother, it is the child's.

Hi Lee, Read it all twice and think I do get the picture even on my cell phones little screen. You've pretty much covered all the bases I believe and your little girl sounds like the is winding up to cut those teeth. Question for you. Is she drooling and maybe a clear runny nose?? At any rate she does have to cut those teeth and I would suspect the bottom two first but its up to her(ha). If it were up to me I'd continue as you are doing but just stick to the rice and banana for food until she gets past the watery diarrhea for a while. It can all be reintroduced without any problem after her gut stabilizes.. I disagree that Gastro will only come and them leave because in some viruses there is a camel back type of scenario where you get the second hump of it too. I wanted to state that but just for a FYI because I think that is past now in her case. Sounds like she is going to raise a little havoc until her pearly whites show up in her mouth, at least one or two I would try to keep her comfy and well hydrated etc. The nap she got in the car is still a nap no matter how she got it. Cars are like cradles in the motion of it all and what better? Take the good and be glad of it.My first daughter stayed with our friends for the weekend while we moved (long time ago) when we picked her up she presented us with her first three teeth. Talk about timing ha. They had so much going on there as they had 5 kids of their own.The dad was our kids pediatrician so what better place? Those teeth will come in and I bet soon. Makes me uneasy. I'm all for womens rights... but damn. If you wait that long to have an abortion, you should just go ahead through with the pregnancy and give the kid up for adoption (another sticky subject i don't have time for). And maybe I don't understand everything because I'm a guy and whatnot. But if you're going to have an abortion, do it early while it is still a clump of cells. Just... damn.
