Pregnant again after miscarriage last January? Real nervous!?

We Answered:

You sound exactly like me, right down to the H1N1. I had a great pregnancy that resulted in a perfectly healthy 2 year old son. No morning sickness, no problems (other than pre-eclampsia in the third trimester) and a relatively quick labour.

When I decided to get pregnant again, it only took 2 months of trying. I was optimistic because I had morning sickness from the second I found out. When my symptoms started to wane at 7 weeks, I figured my hormones were adjusting and I'd have another pregnancy like my first. At 11 weeks, both my son and I contracted H1N1. A day later, I started bleeding. Although the miscarriage and the illness wasn't connected (the fetus had died at 7 weeks, when my symptoms stopped), having them both happen at the same time made the next month extremely difficult.

5 months later, I got pregnant again and became the most paranoid pregnant women in the world. I bought a medical grade fetal Doppler monitor off of eBay and used it every day (even though I couldn't hear anything). The first trimester I was scared of everything. If I wasn't feeling sick for even a minute, I'd start to freak out. When I finally heard the heart beat, it was like a giant load off of my mind. I was still freaked out, though. Anything could happen!

Long story (sort of) short, my 19 day old daughter is healthy and beautiful. You'll never be able to stop worrying about problems, but don't let it get in the way of being happy and don't let it run your life.

I wish you the best of luck!

Why do some people say that you are more your fathers ancestry..?

We Answered:

I've heard this also.

Anyway it's 50-50.
Father's DNA isn't superior to Mother's.
That's total ********.
Plus I know people who look much more like their mom's rather their fathers.
For example my father is dark skinned and my mom is so pale..
Me and my siblings have all pale skin like hers and her characteristics.
We don't look like our dad at all.
