What would you find helpful? We Answered:
I guess I would want to know how to encourage those first words. Also I would like to know how you can tell if a baby is actually starting to name things or if they are just making sounds. For example my daughter is saying dada which I know is just an easy sound for her to make. But my partner is convinced she is saying Dad. haha. Shes not even six months so Im pretty sure it has no meaning for her at this point but he is convinced. Wishful thinking on his part I think!I also agree with the first person. I would really like to know about speech delays and what causes them.

Car seat question Aus -Uk USA?We Answered:
Because its pathetic...your countries laws are horrible...they don't give a crap about the safety of children and the united states is not much better. But the truth of the matter is it is the parents job to do the research and decide that even though your country or states laws may not be up to par it is YOUR responsibility to make a more educated decision for your child. MY kids will not be a minimum, they will be protected to the MAXIMUM.....because it is safer and could save their life. If I were in an accident and something were to happen and my child died, i would want the assurance that I did the best I possibly could to protect them. If I didn't and knew better then how could I or anyone else possibly live with themselves? You can get a better carseat, thats up to you, and you can do better than what the booklet is telling you....if you follow the book and ff your child at that age you are putting them at 5x more likely to die in a collision. Doesn't your baby deserve better? so what will you do?Darrell Said:
My 8mo daughter and I are both sick..?We Answered:
The ear infection itself isn't contagious, but the bacteria that usually causes them is. If you are actively ill and able to spread those germs, the person you pass it on to can get the ear infection also if the conditions are right.A week is a long time to be on the Acetaminophen/Panadol. It can harm the liver. She is old enough now to give her Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Etc). My pediatrician recommends alternating doses of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen. I always try to alternate it in such a way that i can use the ibuprofen at night, since it lasts longer and works better for my daughter.
I wouldn't rush to the ER unless she is completely inconsolable. I would however take her to the doctor when you can get in. Ear infections will sometimes go away on their own, but it depends. They can sometimes rupture the eardrum if they aren't taken care of. And I don't like the idea of leaving a child in discomfort while i "wait for it to go away".

Baby screams when on her tummy? We Answered:
Just keep it up-- she needs her tummy time. That is one battle you are going to have to win. Put something interesting for her to look at at eye level and also get on her level, so she knows you are still there. She will eventually meet her milestones. Just do what you can to encourage tummy time and try not to worry about deadlines.
