Maternal Child Health Program

Alice Said:

What are the Independant Variables and Dependant Variables in these sentences? Help Please.?

We Answered:

Think in terms of running an experiment.
The variable you purposely change is the independent variable.
The variable you measure is the dependent variable; it's supposedly dependent on the one you changed.

For instance, in the first one, you're going to fiddle with the amount of rest each subject gets, and measure their test scores as a result of that rest (at least, you hope the amount of rest affects the test scores). Rest is independent; test scores are dependent.

When did you get your maternal instinct?

We Answered:

I use to never want kids either. In fact before i got with my boyfriend i seriously couldnt stand being around them and they just got on my nerves. So for me when i found that one guy i wanted kids within a month of being with him.Soon huh? hah :P.Well i got pregnant and now have a 2 week old son and love him so much and think hes perfect. For some it changes when you meet that one person, for others it takes alot more.Maybe you wont ever have kids, maybe you will.I honestly believe though that when you are really ready you will know and want them.Good luck

Nutrition graduate, onto OB/GYN?

We Answered:

Do you realize how long it takes to become an OB/GYN? Unless you've already taken all the math/science/English pre-requisites as part of your major, you'll need to go back and take them. Then you'll take the MCAT and score very well. You'll need strong recommendations and, ideally, some type of experience in the field, as well as at least a 3.5 GPA.

If you're one of the few who is accepted to med school, you'll have four years of crushing workload, tremendous debt, extreme pressure and little time for a "real" life. And that all [except for the debt] get even worse during the internship/residency/fellowship which follows - at least five years or more [the surgical specialties are always the long ones].

I'd suggest that unless you can't imagine yourself doing anything else, you think very, very long and hard about med school.

The book "Medical School Admission Requirements" [at your library] and the website aamc.org may be helpful to you.

Is there anyone who would like to donate baby clothes?

We Answered:

This is the wrong venue. You should contact local women in your area. Post on freecycle or craigslist.

No one should mail stuff to people they met on yahoo answers. It just doesn't seem safe.

Kyle Said:

I want to be a nurse but not by online...?

We Answered:

I am a nurse- and although I work from home now (raising our children) there is always a job there for me.
So it's a wise choice, but not an easy one -

As far as experience as a job - working as a medical assistant or aide is hard work, it doesn't give you a full idea of wat a nurse does - but it lets you test yourself if you are up for caring for people -

When you are in school (clinical) it's where you find what you love. I always thought I'd love pediatrics but it was very difficult for me to care for a terminal child once there.
Even if you can study nursing online that is half of the job
You have to do a clinical rotation - to learn every aspect of patient care- OR, ER, OB, Med/surgical floors.
There are a ton of great programs out there 2 year RN
or four year BSN schools -

Good Luck

Has the liberal media reported how the Democrats mislead you?

We Answered:

Most of the media is in bed with the Democratic party.
