CHILD SUPPORT ISSUES...PLEASE READ

We Answered:

you can always tell them, you guys are going to do it personally, and not through the child support unit. Then that way you can just tell them you are getting child support. But down the road that might hurt you, as in if you ever take him for back pay, you wouldn't get it b/c you are reporting that he pays you.

Norma Said:

should i settle for less? child support isses and custody issue. Please help me?

We Answered:

you will always have to discuss decisions with him - he is the child's parent after all.

You already have a new boyfriend, after only breaking up with your ex a week ago? Maybe you need some time without a man in your life.

My husband and I are worried about being able to afford a child! HELP!?

We Answered:

My wife and I are in the EXACT same position and we decided to wait a while and do some stuff by ourselves first. BUT we unexpectantly got pregnant!

Looking at my numbers - yes it is going to be really tight but we will make it. Only debt we have is one car payment and a mortgage and bills (no credit cards or student loans). My advice is make a budget in Excel or something and make sure money out does not exceed money in. Then get between the sheets and have fun! But is ALL up to you guys.

If you want a baby go for it. I count on my wife being down for 4 months. I am real close to having 4 months of her income saved up.

Also consider the cost of child care. My wife's mother is awesome and is going to keep the baby on days my wife works - so I have not calculated child care - it might be different for you. I am in the same position as your husband - income will hopefully rise once the market swings back.

We are 6 months now and it's getting to be a very exciting time! Good Luck, God Bless!

Health care policy question.?

We Answered:

A provision of the Health Care Act which states insurance cannot be denied an adult with pre-existing condition may be underway. Look for the timelines for this provision.

My husband and I are TTC but are really scared about providing out child with everything it needs! HELP!!?

We Answered:

Hi. I think it is great that you two are planning on starting a family soon. It sounds like you two have everything planned. The best advice I can give you is go ahead and start trying for that baby. You could wait until you get some of your debt paid off...but there will always be some reason for putting off trying to get pregnant. There will never actually be the right time. When you finally have that precious baby, you will know what to do. I don't think anyone can plan for a baby. Babies are expensive. My husband and I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I am a stay at home mom as well. We have to limit how much money we spend. But we have our bills paid, we own our house, and we have food to eat...I don't care if I have the most expensive things money can buy. It is worth it to stay home with my daughter. You sound like you will make great parents. Good Luck.

PS: Don't get discouraged if you don't get pregnant right away. It took my husband and I 3 years to finally get pregnant.

I have 4 children 6 and under. I am thinking of divorcing my husband for having an affair on me.?

You should contact an attorney who can answer all your questions. Most offer free initial consultations

In Michigan I tell my clients that 7 years of marriage is where you can start asking for spousal support (alimony) and the closer to 7 years as oppose to 20 plus years of marriage the more likely it will be temporary as opposed to indefinitely.

Another factor would be his income earning ability based on education and such compared to your background.

If he did cheat on you that is an additional issue you can use because although Michigan is a no fault state fault plays a factor in deciding property which spousal support is a property issue.

Health insurance you will be entitled to COBRA or you could negotiate that your ex would help pay as a part of the spousal support.
