My Child Health Insurance

Anne Said:

Does my health insurance cover contact lenses?

We Answered:

Most regular health insurance policies do not pay for the costs of routine eye exams, corrective lenses, eyeglass frames, or contact lenses. Insurance coverage for such services is known as vision care insurance. Empire Blue Cross provides several different coverage plans so you will need to speak to someone to find out for sure what is or is not covered.

Renee Said:

Dependent child Health Insurance question?

We Answered:

You will have to read your dads policy to see how dependents are covered. Some insurance cover a child up to 25 as long as they are a full time student others stipulate that in addition to being a full time student you must also be a dependent and claimed on your parents taxes.

As far as when the insurance company will check, that is usually when they receive a claim. the claim is put on hold and they write a letter to the insured asking for documentation showing that you meet the criteria to be covered.

So, even if the insurance company hasn't canceled you, you very well could have your claim denied. The policy will say that it is up to the insured to notify the company when their dependent status changes.

Alan Said:

I got injured at work and lost my health insurance, what's the cheapest way to get my child health insurance?

We Answered:

The cheapest and only way to get your daughter on a policy is Medicaid. Because of Healthcare reform private child only policies are no longer available.

The only way to get her a private policy is for you or your spouse to also get a policy. For this you'll need to contact a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can find the best plan for your situation and budget. There is no charge using an agent.

Kelly Said:

Child Health Insurance...?

We Answered:

I am not a George W. Bush supporter. I believe the election of 2000 was stolen by the Supreme Court. The Iraq War was approved by Congress based on evidence that was tainted by none other than President George W. Bush. I think he should be impeached and removed from office. That said, I hate to say that he was probably right on this one.

The federal government is operating at a deficit. Balanced budgets are not on the horizon anymore. This is not the time to pass a massive spending bill to cover children that don't need to be covered because they are already covered by their parents' existing policy.

Cover only the children that need to be covered. Keep the others in mind for when the economy is stronger.
