New Jersey Child Health Insurance

Chester Said:

Can I get Health Inusrance?

We Answered:

Have you spoken to a social worker? I believe that there is a co-pay version of medicaid for women who are on a green card or aliens in New Jersey. Getting regular insurance will cost quite a lot of money, especially as you are already pregnant and they consider it a 'pre-existing condition' sucks doesn't it? You should also look into other programs to see if you are eligible. Things like WIC, financial support, and TANF and food stamps

Your husband has no right to be rude to you, you didn't get pregnant by yourself, after all. He has to own up to his responsibility and do his part. This means not being lazy and getting a proper job to support his family. Something he should have been doing from the start (part time is not acceptable at all)

I have a male doctor and he is wonderful and I am fine with it. I personally don't see a problem with it. Also, with certain places, there are only male doctors available (such as my own) They provide you with the same care as they give everyone, and don't just throw you at anyone, so don't listen to that one bit. You have to find doctors in the area that accept whatever insurance you end up getting and you can find one that also has a female doctor. If they don't have one, then they can recommend you to one.

It doesn't seem to be a very healthy relationship concerning this baby (only judging by what you have said, no offense meant!) and perhaps you should also look into programs that can help you be more independent throughout this pregnancy and after. Good luck!!

My 16 year old daughter is pregnant?

We Answered:

If your daughter goes to planned parenthood they will help her get health insurance for both herself and the baby. I believe it is called p-cap. Some of these people on here are being really hard on you as a parent. Just so they know just because your daughter gets pregnant does NOT make you a bad parent.Good luck to you , you are heading down a very rocky road ,you are going to have your ups and your downs.I was in your position and now I think the storm is over. And my reward being the most wonderful 2 year old grandson anyone could ask for.

How does New Jersey calculate permanent alimony and child support? Has Anyone gone through a divorce?

We Answered:

You are entitled to 30% of his income through child support. I think you have to be married more than 10 years to receive alimony.
Yes, he does have to pay for your health insurance - your lawyer has to ask for it.
Get yourself a bulldog divorce attorney! Your soon to be ex is probably cheating.

Ida Said:

Insurance question. How long can a child stay on his parent's insurance in New Jersey? What are the laws?

We Answered:

There's no "new health care BILL". Once a bill is signed by the president after passing the house and the senate, it is no longer a bill, it is a LAW.

So, in NJ, it's a cobra like coverage, until you are 31, IF you meet all the qualifications - many people won't. It won't cover you if you're married, civil unioned, or in a domestic partnership, or if you have any children of your own.

Your parent is not forced to keep you on their plan - but you can pay for it yourself. The employer must already offer coverage to dependents - if their plan is "employee only" coverage, this law doesn't change it.

And, contrary to what others have said, MOST companies do NOT 'self fund' health insurance, because of the horrible risk and very low profit.

Armando Said:

My son and i probably both have some sort of mental health disorder (it runs my family) but ...?

We Answered:

Good for you for staying clean! I'm in recovery as well.

I can sort of understand him being a jerk to you, but his son? Why won't he get his son help? What a jerk.

There are places that will provide free service to you if you have history of addiction. Some places help children for free as well or work on a sliding scale fee. Is there state insurance you can apply for?
