I know there is an answer to this question, but help may not come from a formal charity. It may come from an unexpected source. Charity is more an attribute than an agency. If all you can spare is a quarter, then give it. If you need a dollar, ask the generous for $10.

poverty usually has poor food so all sorts of diet related problems appear and damage to the liver as a result (acetone breath is one symptom).
Leprosy is more common in other nations amongst the poor
Various kinds of parasites, mostly worms, tapeworms, flukes, trichinosis etc
Poor diet means a lot of people do not have the foods to stave off the diseases they get.

young mothers: not all are bad but majority can bairly look after them self let alone a small child

If in usa: poverty effects insurance and so children could not be medically insured

parents life choises: passive smoking and drinking

parents mental health can effect the mental health of the children

poor diets: if there parents dont have the money they cant feed them well causing obesity as well as other major diseases
