Susan Said:

Will citations give me credibility in a persuasive essay?

We Answered:

Uuuugh, don't want to read the wall of text! To answer the question in the title, however, yes and no. If you cite something erroneously, like using a quote just to describe something, it's just going to make you look lazy or too stupid to be able to say something so simple in your own words. On the other hand, if you use a quote or an idea that requires citation (something entirely unique), then it's going to make it look like you cared enough to research your topic and thus probably now know what you're talking about.

What do you think about progressive James Hamsher's analysis of Obamacare?

We Answered:

Jane H. is an extremely bright woman, but she lost credibility when she teamed up with Grover Norquist to wreak chaos for the Democrats. Your analysis isn't exactly plausible, since 85% of the Americans will not be affected at all with the new legislation.

Why do conservatives take such a lose-lose approach to reproductive issues?

You are talking Extreme Right wing.*

Do wealthy men give women more orgasms?

We Answered:

Probably, but not just because of the wealth (explanation below)

First of all, this is a survey study, and women with wealthy partners are naturally going to lie more than those with poor partners, especially since it wasn't anonymous (i.e. "interviews").

Second, why did they cherry-pick 1500 of 5000 women to exclusively include as the basis of their study's conclusion? And you can't tell me these were the women with "wealthy" partners--1/3 of 5000 is way too high to be representative. If you can, then I wanna know their definition of "wealth."

Thirdly, it specifically says less than 1/10 of the 1500 women have orgasms everytime--that's average.

Bottomline: women who have "wealthy" partners simply "enjoy sex more" not necessarily with more orgasms because 1) their lives are generally more stress-free and 2) wealthier partners are usually more educated, and highly educated people have higher sex drives.

Can you help me edit my essay and fix the problems?

We Answered:

Excellent.

Although I agree with religious conservatives who want to challenge the youth to delay sexual activity for a while, I totally disagree with their message that a condom is a provision for sin. I send my Christian friends to the website below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. That way they have no excuse not to support comprehensive sex education.

Did you see this article about baby bottles? A Little Scary!?

We Answered:

Lynnae,
I read a simular article last fall about this and it gave the names of bottles that might harm your child. I was suprised to see Dr. Browns was at the top along with many other name brands such as Playtex. This is when I first became pregnant with Riley. Needless to say I bought 5 cases of glass baby bottles of all sizes figuring if one breaks we have plenty more. This is quite alarming and scary and should be plastered EVERYWHERE so that mommies and future mommies know these risks. Thanks for touching base with your question.

Edit: Reading the response above me I felt I had to add this edit. The effects of these chemicals are LONG TERM. You may not see these effects now or in a few months. Over the years with developing pubety and such they may become. So, as a responsible parent how can you sit and say it does not bother you? It may in 10 years... then what??
