An abortion (just like a miscarriage or other other procedure involving the uterus, fallopian tubes, etc) can affect your ability to conceive and/or carry a child to term later in life. HOWEVER...the chances of any complications are minor if you have the procedure done at a reputable clinic under the care of board certified medical professionals. There are other options besides abortion to consider before making a final decision, but if a woman decides that abortion is her best option then as long as she does her homework about the facility where the procedure is performed, complications are kept to a minimum, if not avoided completely.

No, everyone responds differently to the hormones. I haven't had any symptoms other than exhaustion. I am 16 weeks and doc says baby is fine.

Most gynos will tell you there is no damage. It's just hormones, but it is pretty much faking your body out to think it's pregnant every month and that has to be hard on the body... But, i dont think you'll have an issue getting pregnant when you're ready.

The school might get in trouble for letting the student leave campus without parental consent (unless the parent agreed ahead of time) only because the health clinic inside the school wasn't the same clinic that performed the abortion. The abortion clinic is under no legal obligation to inform the parents or obtain parental permission for the abortion. In general, though, abortion is the exception to the notification / permission laws that parents have regarding their children and medical procedures.

Even though you're young you're very smart to take this attitude because fertility problems can take years to correct and it's best to start now. Run, don't walk, to a different doctor. Scarring on your cervix would not cause severe cramps. And the nurse's attitude sucks a**. My s-in-law had the same problem and now she's infertile because her asinine doctor didn't proceed quickly enough and the endometriosis took over all her organs (even went outside the abdominal wall). And why are they so quick to dismiss the scarring? They should be investigating why you have it because if you would get pg, the cervix 'holds' the baby inside you. It's best to determine now if you have a cervical problem rather than later when you're pg.

You have to get a biopsy in order to determine endo; I forget the name of the procedure but basically they cut a little bit of tissue from your uterus with a special instrument that goes through your vagina--it sounds awful but it really isn't too horribly painful and it's performed in the doctor's office during a regular visit. And if you have it there are other methods other than surgery to control it; some people take BC pills for a prescribed period of time, go off for 2-3 months (using a condom for BC during this time) and then ttc.

You would not harm your child if you conceived while you have endo, but there is a greater chance of having a tubal (ectopic) pregnancy if you have endo because the egg does not 'slide smoothly' down your tubes if your endo is bad enough.

Pls. don't convince yourself that you have endo before you get examined by a competent doctor. Go to a reproductive endocrinologist if you have to; they're more skilled at determining 'stuff' like that. You might not even have anything wrong with you gynecologically but they should not have blown you off; having constant abdominal pain should be thoroughly investigated (did anyone check your gallbladder?).

When a child reaches adulthood he will choose his path regardless of what anyone might think or say. Parents do have a responsibility to guide and teach their children in the meantime.
