Grace Said:

Can indulging in sexual roleplay fantasies become mentally unhealthy?

We Answered:

I think it is relationship unhealthy why do you need to role play to get aroused by your partner? The person they are doesn't do it for you perhaps your with the wrong person!

Gene Said:

Can you please make some grammar or spelling suggestion? Thanks...?

We Answered:

Socio-occupational integration and clinical skills are significant components of transition, (Kramer cited by Evans 2001). In <date> a focus group consisting of <more details of focus group>, collected <what type of data> data from nine newly qualified child health <health what?> in central and east London. The goal of the focus group was to reveal the expectations and concerns of newly qualified nurses. The nurses from the sample group stated that interactions with experienced nurses play a significant role in both social and professional integration. This means Preceptors can assist the newly qualified nurses with integration into their nursing profession. Also, they can help to manage their performance by acting as a role model while providing guidance and feed back on their performance (Evans 2001).

Adam Said:

Is it human nature to not hire a man because he looks 'stunted'?

We Answered:

Mental health nurses often have to restrain violent patients, who can be much bigger than them.

It's difficult enough when you're normal-sized. it would be impossible for a "stunted" person. That said, however, I'm sure there are places where his qualifications would count.. in a geriatric care home, for example, or in a home for children with special needs. Somewhere he wouldn't have to deal with huge, violent psychiatric patients.

I dont know which nursing course to take. please help?

We Answered:

The three branches are very different from each other so you must have a leaning towards one more than the others?

Adult nursing covers people from age 18 upwards & is said to to offer the most variety/opportunities. There are so many different roles for adult nurses, you only have to look at the variety jobs advertised in the back of nursing mags to see that.

Child nursing & Mental Health both take a special sort of person in my opinion. I'm an adult student nurse & I've worked as a health care assistant for almost 20 years prior to uni. I've always worked with adults, I can cope with all kinds of situations with adults but I think I'd find child nursing difficult. At a uni open day I went to they said child nursing whilst being very rewarding can also be the most harrowing. Caring for a terminally ill child is a completely different ball game to caring for a terminally ill adult.

I've worked in mental health & it's not for me. You have to have levels of patience & understanding that that I couldn't even put into words. Mental health nurses really are a special breed & I think you know if mental health is for you or not. It is the slightly easier of the branches to get into though because it's not as popular as the other two.

I think you need to do some research before you make your choice. You could contact your local hospital & ask if they'd be willing to let you shadow a nurse from each of the branches, to give you an insight into their work. I'd also recommend you visit the forum in this site. http://www.studentnurse.org.uk/

I chose adult because it's what I know, it's what I love & the variety of career paths open to adult nurses offers me more opportunity than the other two.

Antonio Said:

discuss the role of the children's act 1989 for the people it affects?

We Answered:

The Children Act 1989 basically sets out the powers and responsibilities of local authorities towards those children living in their area. It also directs the courts to consider the welfare of the child to be paramount when making a ruling about a child.

Section 17 gives local authorities the responsibility to provide services to any child who could be considered a 'child in need'. This could be a disabled child or one whose health or other developmental needs are not being met.

Section 47 sets out the criteria of 'significant harm'. If a child is considered to be at risk of significant harm then the local authority must take steps to protect them including going to court to get an order.

The Act then describes the different orders that can be applied for.

The act affects a lot of people. All those who work with children but especially the teams in Children's Services who do child protection work. It also of course affects the lives of children because it gives us the power and the responsibility to help them if they meet certain criteria.

Hope that helps. The Children Act is a big piece of legislation so its hard to do it justice here. The Mental Health Act is massive as well so if you need it, post it as a separate question!
