What is the Process of becoming a GP in the UK?

We Answered:

http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/details/Def…

The various stages are:

1. Five years at medical school (attached to a university) with clinical placements in hospital and community settings.

2. Two years foundation programme - a period which all UK medical graduates must undertake before moving on to run-through education.

3. Run-through training - a period lasting for several years, which follows on from the foundation programme, when doctors train to specialise in either general practice or a specialty. The length of training will depend upon the career area/specialty in which the doctor wishes to work.

what are all the steps involved in becoming a GP in Australia (NSW)?

We Answered:

You need to complete a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery. Then you need your internship, then at least 2 years as an RMO. Then apply for a GP program and get in (from next year this will be the hardest part) - then it is a 3 year program. After which you are eligible to get a medicare provider number.

Requirements needed for becoming a GP?

We Answered:

It's a while back my partner qualified but you will need top A level grades in sciences to get into uni-then it was 5 years in uni- when he finished he had a year as a house doctor(pre -registration-then you get your full registration after a year)-then a two year hospital rotation and a year as a trainee GP.

Things might be different now as it was 15 years ago- but it's still a hard slog

Good Luck
