psychiatrists (for phobia or water) that take blue shield health insurance?We Answered:
Ask your parents, or whoever's insurance it is that you're under. They will know where to go on the website or what number to call to find out where you can go. The insurance company has a list of covered people that you can visit. It's likely on the website, but you probably need a username/password to access it.Frances Said:

Is this one of those "old people" who will be "left to die" by single payer healthcare?We Answered:
Single payer would be the government paying the health care costs...NOT denying health care as described above!What you have described is similar to an incident in the movie "Sicko" where the insurance company did not want to spend the money...the insurance company being the health care for profit industry that we have now! The HMO even employed doctors to write refusal letters...the more they wrote, the more bonuses they received. One Doctor even testified to Congress about it. Of course that was when it was controlled by the republicans. And we all know the republicans are against health care reform. The movie "Sicko" was made in 2006.
I believe Obama's Mother went through a similar situation.
Doctors and nurses...the REAL health care providers are not compensated as they should be...the Wall Street type greedy people are.
I sincerely wish you well!
And here are the consumer protections that Obama has directed Congress to include in the final bill:
THE SECURITY YOU GET from health insurance reform:
* No Discrimination for Pre-Existing Conditions
* Insurance companies will be prohibited from refusing you coverage because of your medical history.
* No Exorbitant Out-of-Pocket Expenses, Deductibles or Co-Pays
* Insurance companies will have to abide by yearly caps on how much they can charge for out-of-pocket expenses.
* No Cost-Sharing for Preventive Care
* Insurance companies must fully cover, without charge, regular checkups and tests that help you prevent illness, such as mammograms or eye and foot exams for diabetics.
* No Dropping of Coverage for Seriously Ill
* Insurance companies will be prohibited from dropping or watering down insurance coverage for those who become seriously ill.
* No Gender Discrimination
* Insurance companies will be prohibited from charging you more because of your gender.
* No Annual or Lifetime Caps on Coverage
* Insurance companies will be prevented from placing annual or lifetime caps on the coverage you receive.
* Extended Coverage for Young Adults
* Children would continue to be eligible for family coverage through the age of 26.
* Guaranteed Insurance Renewal
* Insurance companies will be required to renew any policy as long as the policyholder pays their premium in full. Insurance companies won't be allowed to refuse renewal because someone became sick.
Maxine Said:
Have you needed to use out of network doctors much?We Answered:
Blue Shield has a huge network of providers. I have Blue Shield PPO coverage and they have a website where you can find a provider (doctor) for almost any health problem. I also always make sure to ask the receptionist if the doctor is a "preferred provider" before I set up an appointment. You can verify in Blue Shield's website all the details about the provider. The only time you might end going to a non-preferred provider is when you have an accident and the ambulance drives you to a hospital that is not part of Blue Shield's network. To have access to the list of providers, you must have an online account which is very easy to set up.
