Date A Doctor

Gary Said:

What majors in college would you take to be a date doctor?

We Answered:

Psychology and counseling. I would also recommend sociology and communication classes.

William Said:

What is it like to date a doctor and what kind of people are they generally?

We Answered:

Some doctors are down to earth and normal but some have superiority complexes, power trips or big egos.
I probably wouldn't date someone who didn't treat other people good or made bad comments about them or thought they were "lesser" then him,or was disrespectful to people etc.How that person treats others is probably a truer indicator of their true overall personality then how they treat someone they're trying to get to like them/trying to sweettalk etc.
For me-i'd be wary with someone like that-how do i know that if the relationship progressed and we got married that he wouldnt turn around and treat me bad in a few years?

Clarence Said:

How common is it for a doctor to hit on his or her patients?

We Answered:

Harmless flirting is part of life. I routinely do so with nurses, some of whom are my kids' ages, and nobody takes that seriously. I even joke that my goal in life is to become a dirty old man. Neither is dating strictly prohibited, else doctors in remote areas would have to be celibate. A lot of doctors date nurses, because there's a large pool, and those who are busy may very well not meet much of anybody else. But Zoltan has a point, and it would be very easy for a doctor to take advantage of a situation, so it would be inappropriate to hit on a patient while in the office, for instance, and I know of few who've ever done so.
And yes, living in a rural area, I've known a few doctors who first met their wives in a different role, but their dates were generated from social meetings later, not in the office setting. That would be plain creepy in addition to having its ethical problems.

What is the earliest date a doctor will induce a baby if there are problems?

We Answered:

Let us hope the sonograms are wrong! (They can be). I'm soooo sorry your child has a hole in its heart! That is soooo sad. Generally a doctor won' induce until 34 weeks (from this point on you are considered full term). But given the circumstances your doctor knows what he's doing. The longer the hole in your baby's heart is left the higher the chance of him/her dying in utero or childbirth (labor is VERY hard on a baby). A child born at 30 weeks (specially if they are planning it and giving your partner drugs to ready the baby's lungs) has a very high chance of survival. If you would like to see what baby likes like and what functions it's little body preforms at the 30 week mark go to http://www.babycenter.com and find the section about fetal development. It is a very helpful site. Good luck!!!

Terri Said:

how can I find a doctor to date?

We Answered:

A hospital employs SO many people--why not try dating a doctor who works in another department? There'd be less of a chance that gossip would start circulating and if there's an awkward break up, at least you won't have to work with him directly.

Recruit a girlfriend to hit up the bars around the hospital the docs hang out at. If dating someone you work with is REALLY a problem, do some research and try out the bars around a nearby hospital that doctors go to.

Keep in mind: even if you do score a doctor, it will not be an easy relationship. I've dated a couple doctors (I work in a hospital, as well)--they definitely have their pros AND their cons (just like anyone else!). Most of them are at least interesting and worth getting to know.

Good luck!

Nina Said:

Can you figure out a due date through hormones in a urine test?

We Answered:

No - they would only be able to confirm pregnancy through a urine test.

It would take a blood test to determine the amount of HCG in her system which would give an indication of how far she is along and approximately when she is due. It would take a dating scan / ultrasound to confirm.

BUT - if she tested positive, if she also knew the date of her last period, they could tell her the due date based on that information

Discuss It!
