Alfred Said:

I would like to job shadow a doctor in the uk but im not sure how (medicine)?

We Answered:

Perhaps you could see if your local hospital has a volunteer office-they may know of how to approach the situation.

Otherwise, just write to a doctor you know and tell them what you told us here. You are interested in a career in medicine but you would like to talk to them about their experiences and possibly shadow them. this way the doctor knows what you are after and can be sure about the legal ramifications before he agrees to anything. Even talking to the doctor can be beneficial to your learning process.

If this doctor can't or won't let you, try another. Some specialties might be more willing than others.
Good Luck!

Jamie Said:

How would I look to become a doctor (uk) if I only have GCSEs and am 25?

We Answered:

I can understand how you feel... but it might take your about 10 years just to complete your course to become a doctor (A levels + 6 years of degree) and then you have loads of exams to prepare for and study further in case you want to specialize. I don't think its a good idea. Instead you could take up some other courses related to the field - these courses are usually for two years and you'll be working along with doctors. Do some more research about it, you'll find something suitable.

Frederick Said:

Foreign doctors (rejected by other countries) taking jobs here while UK trained doctors can't get work! Why?!

We Answered:

The problem is with Tory cutbacks last time they were in charge left a huge void in the profession.

Labour invested lots of money training new doctors but training takes at least six yrs i believe, this means the void was filled by foreign doctors and nurses.

The problem lies in that you cant just sack all the doctors that came here, in order to give newly qualified british doctors a job.

You can thank Maggie & John Major for it
