My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in June 2007. From her descriptions, the pain she experienced was usually in the upper tummy area, below the ribs but above the belly button. It sometimes varied in terms of whether it was on the right or left. Children have a much wider range in terms of what is considered a "normal" blood glucose reading. The target that we were given was between 80 and 180. You will undoubtedly find that sometimes, it will be lower as well as higher, esp. after a snack with carbs or sugar or a meal. Children are so much more active so their range is much wider than it is for adults, in terms of what is considered a healthy blood glucose reading.
I knew that something was wrong b/c my normally very active daughter started needing one or two naps a day. She was very tired and sluggish at times and would wet the bed at night profusely, even overflowing her nighttime big kid pullup. Her eyes started to appear "weak" and she started losing weight. I know that this is all a lot to handle but you're doing the right thing. Finding out all that you can will help ease your mind a great deal.

I am really not sure-the idea of putting a 4 week old under would scare me too. My son had tubes put in his ears at 7 months (much bigger than 4 weeks, I know) and they used laughing gas not general-would that be an option. Your doctor shouldn't require you to chart before he'll see you... Why don't you tell him that you suspect you might not be ovulating at all & have him do blood tests to check your hormone levels.

One more point - the fact that your husband has a 2 year old makes it very likely that his sperm is not the problem, but things do change sometimes, so I wouldn't rule it out without having him tested.

My guess is that it is not a stage and someone in her life is using "playing a doctor" to get her nude... often times parents and or grandparents always tell young children that only the parents/grandparents, themselves, and doctors should see or touch their privates... WIth that being said... playing "Doctor" is often time used on young children to try and trick them.. I think you should REALLY find out what is going on...

Nope, they need to determine that you are ovulating and that his sperm is okay. Even if he has a kid that is 2 years old, that does not mean that his sperm count is okay. As for using OPKs with out charting. That is a waste of time. You have no idea when to check so you could very easily be wasting your money using them when you are not even due to ovulate.

Clomid is a horrible drug, and like other drugs, it can have some terrible side effects. Hyper stimulation can end up making you very sick. Without proof that you re NOT ovulating, no doctor in their right mind will prescribe this medication, or any other.

It could very simply be that you are not timing your sexual intercourse to co inside with the two days before and the day of ovulation. With out charting, you will never know.

I think it's perfect. (: Congrats to you for not going overboard and spending money that you do not have just to make it seem like she is getting more gifts. Many parents do this and then are stressed to the max after the holidays when they are trying to pay the bills that they no longer have money for (because it was spent on Christmas gifts)!

She will have the perfect Christmas with her Mommy and Daddy and little goodies under the tree. The number of presents and price does not matter to her! (:
