How is a high school grad supposed to get a job in Ontario?!?

We Answered:

Sorry you're down on your luck. I'm not completely sure everything that "general laborer" encompasses, but here's a couple things you can try:

Try working at a landscaping business. Especially since summer is coming there should be openings, this will at least get you experience and some job references. Try contacting some small business landscapers and asking to work for them, but be willing to put in long hours for a lower rate of pay in able to get your foot in the door. Gotta set your sights low to start with.

Look into your local government's help wanted. Private sector usually pays more than government, so that's where most competition will be. Counties (like United States counties) usually have a couple positions open, especially seasonal for the summer, and it won't be as much money, but it will help you start out.

Prescriptions in Windsor, Ontario (Canada)?

We Answered:

Canadian pharmacies will ONLY fill scripts written by a Canadian Doctor.

So you would have to enter Canada, go to a Doctor, and pay cash for a office visit, and have him examine you, to determine if you need a prescription to be written. Then take it to a Canadian pharmacy, pay cash for the meds, and cross the border , again.

Complicated , isn;t it ?

Unlike Mexico, Canada does not encourage cross border medical tourism.

1) if you are a RT, which college or institution did you graduate from? which college would you prefer to me? (currently i have 70% avg on my university studies)
I recieved my 2 year degree from Mineral Area College and my 4 year degree from Southeast Missouri State, both in Missouri USA.

2) is it waste to go to university, get a degree, then apply for RT because you can apply for RT right after high school graduation?
If you can apply for RT right out of high school then yes that is the way to go. Get it done early.

3) Is RT a female orientated job (something like nurses)? a male orientated job? or it is both and does not really matter (something like doctors) ? Nursing ration is about 80/20 F/M and RT is about 60/40 F/M.

4) what is the payment you are getting per year? please do not direct me to website that says the avg salary of RT. please give me your own salary. through yahoo i can not find about who you are so please be honest and give me yearly salaray.
I make way above the norm but I have the following credentials, RRT, CPFT, AE-C and a 4 year degree.

5) while registered in RT program, is there chemistry courses or physics courses that I would be taking? or is it mostly biology? if there is chemistry courses that you would be taking what do you learn in it? acid base? reactions equations?
Some programs are different. I had science, biology, A&P, and pharmacology. No real chemistry. We covered that in general science.

6) if you are a graduate from an ontario college, how fast do you find a job after graduation? how long did it take you?
I didn't but I had a job 3 months before I graduated.

7) how man students per year do colleges accept students into RT program? what can i do to get it in? what did you do? volunteer services? Not suure

8) should i go to college in canada or USA? if the answer is USA can you please, madam or sir, i beg you to find a USA college that offer RT program where the req are 70% GPA and some general bio courses and maybe first year chemistry courses. i do have searched but some req are above my GPA. thats why.
There are many good Rt schools in the US
