OK... in my opinion, those sites are incorrect. Eccleston is the official 9th Doctor cos he was the 9th doctor in the OFFICIAL series of Doctor Who. The cartoon doctor who and the comedy relief spoof weren't the real series, they were spin-offs. They weren't actually comissioned by the BBC and therefore aren't considered part of the actual Doctor Who series.
So cartoon doctor and mr Bean doc may be called spin-off doctors if you want, as they come from spin-offs, but the official doctor is the one from the official series... Chris Ecclestone.
