Doctor Who Videos

Harvey Said:

How does one watch the Doctor Who videos that are on the BBC's website if you don't live in the UK?

We Answered:

I watch Doctor Who usually on http://www.veoh.com, sometimes at http://www.alluc.org.

At either of these sites, you'll have to download a player, or you'll have to download codecs or other driver-type files so that your current browser and media player will handle the files.

I watch the episodes online, just as soon as someone from the UK gets them posted. And then I watch on television with my hubby on Friday nights. He's not obsessed, like I am. ;-)

By the way, British shows run a few minutes longer than a show in the US - our tv networks have to allow for commercials. So every episode you watch online is going to be 2 to 6 minutes longer than what it will be on US television. Watch carefully to catch the bits that were deleted! Sometimes it's an entire scene, but other times it's just a line or two of dialogue that got snipped.

Lena Said:

Does anyone have any old Doctor Who Videos?

We Answered:

See also recons.com.
The actual episodes no longer exist--only fan-produced reconstructions (from stills and brief clips timed to home recordings of the original soundtracks taped from the original BBC broadcasts) are avaliable.

Brief clips of these episodes used on other BBC shows, edited out of foreign broadcasts or filmed off TV screens by fans are all that currently survive of most of these episodes (some have no footage at all in existance).

Go to the site below and read all about these fan-created "recons" of these missing episodes (avaliable free by sending VHS tapes and postage through its network of distribution sites).

Joseph Said:

How do I make a Doctor Who tribute video on a Mac OS X?

We Answered:

When you rip the videos from Mac the Ripper and convert them to mpeg, make sure you're converting them to mpeg-1.
If all else fails just try converting the videos to quicktime instead of mpeg.
Other than that just use iMovie to make the video.

Doctor Who Videos?

We Answered:

Those episodes are lost (erased/destroyed by the BBC in the early to mid-Seventies).

Fan-produced recreations of the episodes in question are avaliable from Loose Cannon Productions.

I think you're too overly exited and ignorant about technology to have this question answered.
