Doctors For Australia

Marshall Said:

What title do they use for medical doctors in Australia?

We Answered:

The usual university degree is MBBS = Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.

The honorary title "Doctor" is used.

The difference between countries may originally have arisen because the medical qualification(s) where either presented as undergraduate program or as a postgraduate program following on from an undergraduate degree in some other area. Although the Australian system has increasingly moved to a post graduate program approach (like the US) the old degree terminology is still used.

Cost of appointment physiological doctor australia victoria?

We Answered:

That really depends on where you want to go and who you want to see. Firstly you may need a referral from your GP, some GP's actually are counsellors also, see what their practice offers.

Our Council's community health centre has a physcologist on staff, their fees were $10 a session and now I think free.

Ive also been to a physciatrist that cost up to $150 for 30 mins.
Prices are different everywhere and depends on the qualifications of the therapist or practice too.

I believe there are new laws about rebates for physciological counselling. Try the medicare website.

Depending on the problem, its an ongoing cost till you stop, meds would be the only other expense if needed.

Jill Said:

can anyone put me in contact with any doctors in australia that do tubual reversals and come recommended?

We Answered:

I don't know if they have hospital physician referral lines available in Australia like they do here in the U.S. but if they do that can sometimes be a good place to check.

Also, here's the link to a site that may be of additional help. It's at: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health
