Let me start by saying, I do not / did not agree with apartheid. I know it is wrong.

But it doesn't change the fact that the apartheid government knew what they where doing (with regards to keeping the country running).

They where not a bunch of people with high salaries sitting on their arses in a Learjet on their way to another shopping-spree in Dubai.

How is that BS? Sounds a bit like norovirus to me. I had it for around a week, puking the whole time.

The important thing is to stay hydrated. She should also try nibbling at a few soda crackers as well for carbs.

Vomiting can damage the esophagus and pharynx, but this usually only happens with chronic vomiting, like in people with bulemia. If the vomiting persists for over a week and is accompanied by a fever over 100, she should go back to see a doctor, just to check up. And no, I highly doubt she'll die.

She should NOT go to the hospital for something this minor. Doing so would spread the virus around to people with compromised immune systems.

A similar case happened with my friend. We were having a good time on the beach. When he entered the water, immediately he shouted for help and ran a temperature. He had a small swelling on one of his toes. He then started sweating throughout.

We took him to a hospital nearby. They could not pinpoint the problem, but after 2-3 days he felt better but not completely out of pain. He informed me he found a small barb after about 8 days.

Possibly, a small sea creature that had stung him. Recovery time I think depends on the amount of poison and tolerance. It could also be from a spider. I think an x-ray could pick this up!!

You should be more concerned about Giardia lamblia protozoa in the water because a lot of the rivers and reservoirs are polluted because of poor sanitation created by uncontrolled squatting in and around cities. It is not a pleasant experience to be infected with Giardia
