Doctors White Coat
Jenny Said:
Why do doctors and scientists wear white coats? We Answered:
White is more of a calming color, so it can calm the patients down, and it a simple color. Also, it goes with the hospital white that is always on the wall. I had one but I spilt strawberry shortcake on it (by accident). not cool.Victoria Said:
why do doctors use white lab coat?We Answered:
White coats are sometimes seen as the distinctive dress of physicians, who have worn them for over 100 years. Recently, white coat ceremonies have become popular amongst those starting medical school.A recent study found that the majority of patients prefer their doctors to wear white coats, but the majority of doctors prefer other clothing, such as scrubs. The study found that psychiatrists were among the least likely to wear white coats, perhaps in part due to the stereotyping that the pop culture phrase suggests. Some medical doctors view the coats as hot and uncomfortable, and many feel that they spread infection.
As a matter of fact they are just starting to ban them. Nobody wears them in Australia (well only a few old guys), but they are banned in the UK because they are carriers of germs, same reason ties have been banned in a lot of places.
Why Asia and the US still use them is a mystery...

Why do doctors wear a white coat? Is it just a way for them to feel like they are better than everyone else?We Answered:
People who wear white coats are not always doctors. This is a lesson I have learned the hard way. Do not assume that because someone is wearing a white coat and calls themselves a doctor that they are in fact a doctor. They are probably only a nurse practitioner. Make sure if someone is calling themselves a doctor, that you get proof that they are a doctor before you let them do surgery. My husband is now disabled because a woman claimed to be a doctor and did surgery on him and screwed it up and we found out later that she wasn't a doctor and should not have done this surgery. Ask for proof. They don't need a jacket, they need a diploma.Karl Said:
Why does doctors wear white coat?We Answered:
They can be sterilized, they can be bleached. Mostly it's the profession. It's pretty much standard through the world. Dr's can be recognized in their uniform at their work place.Just like policemen, firemen, the navy and people that work at Mc Donald's. It's their badge of honor since the begining of time. It sets them apart from the pack when you are looking and need one!!!! It's their special well deserved look.....Darryl Said:
How many doctors actually wear the white coat in hospitals and clinics? We Answered:
The white coat is not a uniform that doctors have to wear like bus conductors. They wear it like an apron when there is a chance of their suits getting spoilt.
