When does series five of Doctor Who come out on DVD in Australia?

We Answered:

Doctor Who Series 5, Volume 2 (The Time of Angels, Flesh and Stone, The Vampires of Venice) is set to be released in Australia (aka Region 4) on 5 August 2010.

The rest of the series' release dates are yet to be confirmed, but it looks like each volume comes out in Australia around a month after it goes out in the UK.

Doctor Who DVD Series 2 Box Set Question?

We Answered:

The small print on the back of the booklet says "Booklet illustrations by Anthony Dry and Alister Pearson. All Dalek, X-Ray and TARDIS illustrations by Gavin Rymill."

I couldn't find any official web sites for these guys, but some of Anthony Dry's art work is on the link below.

Eugene Said:

How long is the combined runtime of all available DVD or VHS Doctor Who episodes?

We Answered:

I'm going to assume that you are talking about the series that began in 2005. If so, the run time would be as follows.

Season 1 - 585 min. (9 hours, 45 mins)
Season 2 - 646 min. (10 hours, 46 mins)
Season 3 - 652 min. (10 hours, 52 mins)
Season 4 - 655 min. (10 hours, 55 mins)
Total - 2,538 min. (42 hours, 18 mins)

that is of course if my calculations are correct.

Emily Said:

Will Doctor Who DVD Mission to the Unknown ever be able to buy on DVD?

We Answered:

Not unless the episide turns up unexpectedly.

Many stories from the early days of Doctor Who were trashed by the BBC (this was in the days before Video and DVDs). Mission to the Unknown is one of those stories. Had it been available for release it would be included as part of the Daleks Masterplan story. Unfortunately only a few episodes remain even of that. You can see those episodes in the Dr Who Boxed DVD set called "Lost in Time".
