My son had to last year. He was 2 and he ended up getting tubes in his ears because his ear infections would last for months. My nieces went to one because they had chronic ear infections and needed to have tubes put in multiple times and had their tonsils and adenoids removed. ENT's specialize in Ear, Nose and Throat conditions and their treatment.

The ENT basically looked him over (ear, nose, throat) and talked to him and me. From his referral, he could see the history and other details.

My son had a "hearing test" done later last year when he was being evaluated for speech delay. The stood behind him and called him. He turned around, so he could hear. They did it with a bell and a squeaky toy, too.

It's pretty no-stress at the appointment and even your child needs tubes, it's not as bad as I expected. You both will be fine.
