Have they tried something that works directly on the nerves like neurontin?
I had surgery to remove bone spurs and actually had a lot of pain from the nerves rebounding. Narcotics did nothing to help but neurontin helped a lot.
Also I can tell you, MRI's don't pick up everything. I'd keep trying new doctors till they got to the root of the matter. It's not much of a life if you have to take pain pills all the time.

ADHD is not just a children's condition. People don't just grow out of it, but they often learn to cope and function well with it. In your case, it seems that something is making it worse.
Why don't you just tell your psychiatrist what happened? You tried a friend's pill, and it calmed you down, when most people find it stimulating. Just be open about it. Hopefully your psychiatrist wasn't born yesterday and won't make unwarranted assumptions.
