firstly.. you need to not allow the problem with your friend to consume you as it will drag you down too..
she needs to get some counselling for her low self image and self worth, you can do this by telling her how you like her and that you are happy to be her friend and slowly let her know that you dont like what she is doing
understand that each of us make decisions that have consequences.. and depending on the decision will result in good consequences or bad consequences..

you are right in saying you dont have the power to do anything to help her but you can only be her friend and guide her to the right people and right path to take and if she decides she doesnt want to take that path then there is nothing you can do... sorry but thats life...
but be there for her and talk to her just be a good listener and friend...
she is looking for happiness in all the wrong places and she needs to know she is special and loved
