Kidney Doctor Specialist

Albert Said:

what kind of specialist doctor takes care of the kidney?

We Answered:

try this link.

Sonia Said:

Need a good kidney specialist.. One third of a kidney functioning. Diabetic and tumors. Need help.?

We Answered:

A patient with that amount of kidney function loss would no doubt already be under the care of a nephrologist (kidney specialist) I think this question seems a little odd since I would have to wonder without medical specialty care how on earth she A) knows she has only 1/3 of 1 kidney functioning and B) how does she know she has tumors. It is common for diabetics to be on dialysis and this person would undoubtedly be on dialysis again prescribed by a physician at some level. Are you sure you really have all the facts here?

Kristen Said:

Kidney Specialist?

We Answered:

well i don't know about Singapore but i can suggest India which cost less and very good doctors are available spl. in hospitals like care, global and kaminieni in Hyderabad, India.

Rafael Said:

do i need a specialist or just a regular ob doctor?

We Answered:

You would probably have to see a regular Ob and be followed by another specialist for the transplant. Neither will be qualified to deal with both situations. The Ob will follow your pregnancy and the specialist will keep an eye on your kidneys during your pregnancy. Start with an Ob though to get an intial check-up/sono, etc.

Nelson Said:

How can I find a kidney specialist that will work with me on payments?

We Answered:

Do you have any insurance at all? Try checking with your local health clinic its possible to get some help with the payments through the state,or look on the net @ your states options they may have the income guidlines alreay posted.
Or call around or get referral from PCP and ask if theres anyway they will work with you.

Laurie Said:

doctor tells me my son needs kidney removed?

We Answered:

definitely get a second and even a third opinion on this before you take any action... just to be sure... better safe than sorry, right!?!?!!

my dad had one of his kidney's removed at 18 yrs old after having kidney failure in one of them... he lived just fine after, but had to watch his alcohol consumption and had some activity limitations (they told him to never ride a motorcycle, stuff like that... which he did anyway!!) but that was over 30 years ago, so perhaps the restrictions after kidney removal are different now...

your son should be fine... and he will most definitely be very functional now and later on in life after the kidney removal... but like i said, please get a second or third opinion on this matter... it seems kind of drastic to have the whole kidney removed for stones and an infection which should be treatable... good luck...
