Loans For Doctors

Benjamin Said:

With the the public option, are doctors going to be paid less?

We Answered:

Not only that...they have to be approved by the medical czar to use hospitals and procedures etc.

THERE will be no public option..and anyone who thinks there will be is plain nuts and believes in fairy tales!

No it won't pass senate. My doctor does not support it.

Don't you find it interesting how the libs put out that the AMA supports it and it is actually just the doctors for OBAMA...13,000 of them and that is it.? The AMA came out on TV and said they didn't put out that endorsement but some speaker said they approved it when they did not.

LIES and DEMS DECEIT...AGAIN!

Don't you also find it interesting that the dems and libs want this to be affordable health care for ALL...yet they make the poor pay 10 to 15 thousand for a policy...and if they can't pay they go to jail or get fined...and then they could get a HARDSHIP clause and get a sliding scale fee.

NOW..isn't this supposed to be AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE?

hmmmmmmmmmm sounds like another hypocritical statement! AGAIN...why should it be more for some and less for others when the care is the same? Why can't it be the SAME PRICE for all. Isn't that what it is supposed to be? I mean sounds like someone is discriminating against those that WORK AGAIN....

So aren't we back to square one and still giving free health care out and payig for those that can't.? Isn't it the SAME THING WE ARE DOING NOW?

hahahahahahaha IDIOTS.....they are idiots!

Eric Said:

Do doctors have to start paying back their student loans during their residency?

We Answered:

Doctors, just like all other students, start paying on their loans once they are out of school. There is a time frame, I believe it's one year, before they actually have to start repaying. It doesn't matter what career you go into.

Clara Said:

Do any banks still offer doctor loans, in CALIFORNIA?

We Answered:

Almost all special financing is gone -- completely gone. aka the credit crisis.

About the only place you are going to find them are private banks, small community banks, and credit unions. Pre-existing relationships are generally a must, but it can't hurt to try. Although I'm sure there must be exceptions, I have not seen a 100% jumbo loan yet this year...I'm guessing they are out the window too.

You may want to wait three months and try again. Things will change...although I personally doubt 100% financing will be back in vogue for a while (WAG = 2 years).

Tyler Said:

a bank loans a doctor $37,500 to buy an x-ray machine. The interest rate is 8%. What is the yearly interest pa?

We Answered:

You're absolutely right, unless the doctor pays only interest and never reduces the debt. If you've advanced to series and sequences or beyond, there's probably an error in the question. If instead you're studying the intricacies of percent, just assume Dr. Feelsgood paid for it with his credit card and will forever pay interest on the same $37,500 debt.

Should the government forgive student loans for doctors who agree to take a certain % of medicare/medicaid ..?

We Answered:

Yes doctors shoudl have higher comfortable lives--but not luxery while the patients they are supposed to care for are suffering and not able to live in minimal comfort

PEOPLE SHOULDN"T BE CALLING OUT A NOTHER MEMBER AND NOT ALLOWING EMAIL

I DIND"T PICK MY PROFESSION JUST TO MAKE MONEY..i picked it because it was what I enjoyed doing...

i live in a run down 3 room condo that is cheaper than renting..i don't know how I will afford a preowned car in a few years..i never travel more than a day trip no more than an hour away.

WHY DOO DOCS DESErve moRE than THE AVERAGE PERSON WHO HAS HAD TO WORK JUST AS HARD TO GET WHERE THEY ARE. MY STRUGGLE IS LIFELONG---THAT IS NO COMPARISON TO 8 YEARS IN MED SCHOOL

I ALMOST COULDN"T FINISH MY BA BECAUSE MY DISABILITY GOT SO BAD..NOW I CAN"T WORK AT ALL BECAUSE I COULNDT GET PROPER HEALTH CARE WITH AN hmo

how about someone who gre up in the projectsm surrounded by drugsm gangs, and guns....they risk their lives everyday just to graduate from high school...isn't that a struggle

the docs in my state aren't struggling--they live in upper middle class neighborhoods--at least 2x teh value of a typical middle class suburban home...they have nice cars and travel often

all doctors should be required to take a minimum number of patients on medicare/medicaid...for example 10%...if they have 500 active patients in a given year...they must accept a minimum of 50 medicare/medicaid

Theresa Said:

Can my bad credit prevent me from enlisting in the Air Force?

We Answered:

The short answer is, "Yes." But I think you can work through this.

First, do not declare bankruptcy. That seriously impairs your ability to get into any branch of the military. It's seen as evidence that you don't take care of your responsibilities. Bankruptcy is harder to declare than it used to be, and having a bankruptcy at 19 is a pretty solid indication you could be a risk.

Second, do call someone like Consumer Credit Counseling Service. (You can Google them). They will call your creditors, work out repayments (lower interest, settlements on totals, etc.), and help you repair your credit score. And their services are free to you. You will show initiative, willingness to get help and settle your debts, and prove you're not a huge security risk.

There isn't an easy way to fix this, but there is a way. The Air Force is reducing some career fields right now, and you want to show them you're a good candidate.

Best of luck.
