Sharon Said:

How can you check online FREE for any malpractice suits against your doctor ?

We Answered:

Go through your state's website and look for the info there. You may have to drill through it but some states post it.

How can you find out if your doctor has a malpractice suit against them?

We Answered:

Hoo-boy... not good. Normally, docs leave the practice with notice to patients, who are also provided with an alternate colleague. This is unusual. Strongly suggest you contact the docs disciplinary/licensing body ACP Arkansas http://www.acponline.org/chapters/ar/abo… with your concerns. Some official there who deals with public inquiries/complaints will be able to advise.

Stay close by your rumor mill, which will certainly tell you faster than the courts whether your doc is guilty of malpractice. In Canada, at least, docs are represented by lawyers appointed by their insurer (the absolute wiliest), and thy fight each claim to the highest court. It means it takes a LONG time to get a final judgment.

In your case, you need to let the College (ACP) know your circs in the event there is an investigation proceeding and you're a party with evidence. Hope not.

Good luck.

Most state licensing departments have searchable databases on their website.

Rafael Said:

My mother passed away while in the process of filing a malpractice suit against her doctor. How could I find?

We Answered:

If the suit was actually filed, you can go to the court and have a search done with her as the named Plaintiff. Actions are normally filed in the county where the Plaintiff resides, where the even occurred or where the Defendant resides or does business, depending on your states rules of civil procedure.

The filing will tell you the name of the lawyer who represented her.

Since 3 1/2 years have passed, he probably had himself removed because he couldn't get in touch with her. You should still contact him though just in case he didn't.
