I am afraid purely cosmetic procedures are now rarely covered by the NHS. if there were extenuating circumstances such as severe psychological problems they are sometimes considered. have a word with your GP initially.

Every area has a different waiting list but if the doctor thought it was urgent it would be done withing a few months but you said it is healing so why would they want to operate on it? I live in Glasgow and my friend waited 6 months to get a knee replacement operation done.

I think its alot easier! I went in the other day (running a few mins late) and some man was moaning about something to the receptionist. I checked my self in the computer & sat down. The man was there complaining for another 20 mins! I would have missed my appointment had i had to wait for him to finish!

Why should the rules for you be different from bus driver or shop assistant? If you are in a union speak to them but I doubt there will be any rules against it.

The surgery you visit now should have requested your doctors files from your previous doctor but perhaps you could ring to confirm you're registered at the new doctors. I dont' think you can get treatment from both doctors you have to be registered with one or the other.
