No you can't these records are technically the property of the NHS not you. Also most doctors feel an obligation to keep your GP in the loop and passing all medical information to him for his information is standard. The risk of not doing so is significant, as a situation may well arise when your past history is relevant to a current problem.

It will cost you the same either way, as a non- British Citizen you will be billed for private or NHS care as you have no entitlement to NHS care, you make contributons in the form of National Insurance via your earnings or a partners earnings to the NHS, if you have never made any contributions you get a bill instead. You get an NHS number when you are an official British Citizen and have made enough cash contributions to the NHS.

Depends what field you are working in, if you are specialised and whether you are being paid to do research. I would say anywhere from £70,000-£100,000 per annum. If you are being paid to do research and take royalties then it will be dramatically higher.
